Jane Craig, the Business Head of the Family Law Department, was born in Bermuda in 1957. She has been a partner at Manches since January 1992. She specialises in the financial aspects of high value divorces, residence and contact arrangements for children and disputes arising from the breakdown of relationships between unmarried people. Many of her cases have an international dimension.
Jane is a member of the Family Justice Council, a non statutory Government body set up to advise the Government on family policy issues and the operation of the family justice system. She chairs the Council's Children in Families Committee. She is a past National Chairman of Resolution, the country’s leading organisation of family lawyers.
In a profile in The Guardian newspaper, Jane was described as being “at the forefront of a new breed of family lawyer”. She is frequently asked to comment on family law topics in the press and on BBC Radio 4. She is a Fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (IAML) and a trained collaborative lawyer.
Jane is named as a leading expert in family law in The Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession, The Legal 500 and Legal Experts.
